ACM Panel Installer

Primary Position Objectives: 

The Installer will work under general supervision to perform various tasks to aid daily operations at construction sites.

Required Skills:

  • Jobsite set-up.
  • Saws, if applicable.
  • Generator, locate power source from building.
  • Work table for flips, plans, etc.
  • Utilize leveling devices
  • Panel Installation
  • Install metal trim work
  • Discuss with foreman areas and orientation of where panels will be installed daily.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area at all times throughout the day.
  • Prepare a sufficient quantity of panels ahead of time for installers at all times throughout the day.
  • Transport panels to installers as needed, along with shims, fasteners, additional tools, and charged batteries.
  • Close all crates and secure materials not enclosed in a crate at end of work day.
  • Keep truck interior and toolboxes organized, create a list of supplies when low in stock.
  • Ensure lifts are fueled and charged.
  • Return all tools to truck and put away organized, secure and neat at the end of the work day.

Requires Qualifications:

  • Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Mathematics: Understanding fractions/inches and reading a tape measure.
  • Operate a manlift.
  • Experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.
  • Acquire 10-hour OSHA training.

Project Superintendent

Primary Position Objectives: 

The Project Superintendent will supervise, coordinate, schedule, and oversee employees, equipment, and subcontractors on general construction projects. The Project Superintendent will proactively anticipate staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for efficient project execution while upholding stringent safety standards. The role encompasses the coordination of diverse aspects of projects, ensuring they are completed within budget, adhering to timelines, and maintaining a focus on safety.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in interpreting and comprehending construction blueprints and documents.
  • Effective communication with subcontractors, staff, and superiors.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.
  • Communication – effective both verbally and written, across all organization levels.
  • Multi-task - able to manage multiple projects at one time and quickly transition between projects and priorities as required.
  • Organization - strong organizational skills.
  • Work Style – able to work collaboratively across operations and function disciplines as well as independently

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A clean driving record.
  • Preferably a degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.

Project Manager

Primary Position Objectives: 

The Project Manager will manage, budget, and schedule Penn State Construction’s general construction

projects from award to punch list completion.

Essential Functions:

  • Review entire project scope, budget, and schedule with estimating department after Notice of Award
  • Process contract award documents as required
  • Issue purchase orders to vendors and subcontracts to subcontractors after project award
  • Maintain direct communication with Design Professionals / Building Owners throughout entire project
  • Create, coordinate, and optimize project schedules with owners, vendors, subcontractors, and in-house site superintendents / foremen
  • Issue monthly progress invoices/pay apps for projects
  • Bi-weekly job progress reporting of all current projects
  • Attend final close-out meeting(s) and generating punch list 
  • Assign punch list items to specific in-house staff and/or vendors & subcontractors 
  • Follow up with clientele upon completion of punch list to ensure customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction
  • Experience with finance and budgeting
  • Comprehending project deadlines
  • Ability to present effectively direct reports and to communicate with others in a clear, concise, and effective manner. 
  • Familiarity with current building codes and construction methods.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe, PDF Xchange (or other PDF readers)

Drafter

Primary Position Objectives: 

The Drafter will work under general supervision to utilize AutoCAD/BIM software to generate construction documents and production drawings. The Drafter will work with the Design team to develop HiCAD software for development of exterior façade system drawings and will also manipulate point cloud data for creation of as-built conditions.

Carpenter

Primary Position Objectives: 

The Carpenter will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and

other materials as needed to assist with various types of construction projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist supervisors and foreman
  • Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
  • Measure, mark, and arrange materials to establish a layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
  • Cut and shape structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
  • Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying
  • equipment, or framing squares; correct problems as needed.
  • Create wooden forms for pouring concrete or for tunnels, bridges, or sewer construction projects.
  • Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding.
  • Install windows and doors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience as a general laborer in the construction industry
  • A valid driver’s license
